Contactors
Contactors, or switch contactors, are electrical or electromagnetic circuit breakers suitable for high power, low voltage and heavy duty applications. With the help of their control board, the contactors can be used to control motors. Due to their flexible design, electric contactors can control any voltage class.
The following shows which contactor type is best suited for which of the two application areas of traffic engineering and industry.
In traffic engineering, strict guidelines according to IEC 60077 apply with regard to compliance with electrical parameters, which the contactors of the HB, T and S series meet.
The HB series is designed and tested in accordance with IEC60077 for use in rail vehicles. It is suitable for circuit protection.
The T-series is also designed according to standard IEC60077 for rail vehicle applications. It can be used for a wide variety of circuits such as charging, discharging and filtering circuits.
S-Series contactors and disconnectors are the world's most complete range of AC and DC switching devices. Flexibly configurable in thousands of versions, they fit a wide range of applications and offer the highest performance for almost any specification.
High quality requirements prevail in industry, which is why the contactors can be used in a wide range of industrial sectors due to their high performance requirements, reliability and versatility. The R, T and S contactor series are suitable for industrial applications.
The R-series has been developed exclusively for industrial applications. The bar contactor is built according to IEC 60947 and offers a complete range of modular contactors.
Information on the T and S Series can be found in the traffic engineering section above.
