Gridbox
In opencast and underground mining, raw materials such as coal, gravel, stone, sand, ore and much more are transported away with the help of dump trucks. These trucks are capable of transporting several hundred tons and reach speeds of up to 60 km/h with powerful diesel-electric or all-electric drives.
The electrodynamic braking system converts the generated braking energy into heat. This conversion of electrical energy into thermal energy leads to very high temperatures, which are dissipated into the environment by high-performance fans.
Our Gridbox braking resistors can be used for power loads of up to five megawatts and ensure the safe and efficient dissipation of excess braking energy.

Mounting height
The braking resistors are designed for use at altitudes of up to 5,500 m above sea level.
