Axial fans

Axial fans are a type of fan specifically designed for use in applications where a high airflow and low pressure differential are required.

The name “axial fan” is derived from the direction of the air flow, which is along the axis of the fan. With an axial fan, the air flows in and out parallel to the axis of the fan. The fan consists of a housing containing a series of fan blades or vanes arranged in a cylindrical or conical pattern. During operation, the fan blades rotate around the axis and generate an air flow that is directed forwards or backwards along the axis.

Axial fans are efficient, quiet and compact. They can move high volumes of air and are suitable for applications with low pressure loss. Due to their design, they are best suited to applications where the resistance to air flow is low. However, if a high pressure build-up is required, centrifugal fans are used instead.
